Starting Solid Food for your Baby.... Yippee!!!
It is an amazing feeling to cross the milestone to solid food for your little one.
They grow fast right*winks*
Six month is the recommended time to start solid but some babies start earlier
To be on the save side check with your paediatrician.
There is a whole lot of foods for baby to try at this stage.
Mostly pureed homemade food or cereal.
Some of them include;
1. AVOCADO PUREE; very easy to make .
Peel it, put in your food processor or blender and blend.
Breastmilk, formular could be added if you want it light.
As they grow older, you can just mash it with a fork.
2. PAP (Ogi, Akamu etc)
This is also a good first food for baby and it could be made in variety of ways.
Different flavours can be derived .
You could add blended banana , strawberry, soya milk etc.
You can also try @bubezpap for a yummy experience.
3. BANANA PUREE; yummy and easy to make.
Blend banana with blender or food processor.
For a light consistency add breastmilk or prepared formular milk.
4. IRISH POTATOES PUREE; peel Irish, wash and boil.
Put in your blender, Add a little already prepared formular milk or breastmilk
Blend.
You can mix chicken or turkey to it or other vegetables.
5. SWEET POTATOES PUREE; same process as Irish potatoes.
6. CARRCARROT PUREE; Wash carrots very well. You can peel the skin lightly.
Cut into bits and boil. Blend in a blender or food processor.
Add water to your desired consistency.
7. PEAS PUREE; wash peas and boil till tender.
Put in your food processor or blender and puree till soft.
Add water to your desired consistency.
8. CEREAL; There is a whole lot to choose from.
Example; Cerelac, Frisocream, Nutribum, Gerber foods etc.
